The Lighthouse Writing Workshop with Unique Robinson
February 2 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
An event every month that begins at 7:00pm on day First of the month, repeating indefinitely
Every First Thursday!
This Writing Workshop provides a space for participants of all levels and genres of writing to create new pieces, and workshop any existing ones. Oftentimes, Writing Workshops are only offered at the collegiate level, or in Writing Fellowships. This is an accessible opportunity for writers outside of institutions to develop and focus on their craft, in the company of community.
This writing workshop also function as an accompaniment to Motor House’s monthly open mic series, where workshop participants can perform their creative works in front of a welcoming audience on the fourth Thursday of the month.
This proposed Writing Workshop is facilitated by Unique Robinson, poet, performer, and Professor. Unique is a Baltimore City native, with 20 years of experience as a spoken word performer. She has taught poetry and creative writing for 7 years at the community, collegiate, and K-12 levels as both Teaching Artist, and Professor in Humanistic Studies at MICA and Towson University.
Unique received her MFA in English & Creative Writing from Mills College, and a BA in Creative Writing/Black Studies from Hampshire College. She has two book releases: the chapbook, flicked/forgotten/
